Education and Eligibility:

  1. Complete your 10+2 education with core subjects in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.
  2. Consider taking entrance exams like IMU CET (Indian Maritime University Common Entrance Test) or All India Merchant Navy Entrance Test (AIMNET).
  3. Alternatively, you can seek sponsorship from a shipping company.

Pre-Sea Training:

  1. After 12th, enroll in pre-sea training for six months.
  2. Join the Merchant Navy as a trainee and gain practical experience.
  3. Aim to get promoted as an Able Body Seaman and eventually as a Bosun after clearing the COC (Certificate of Competency) exam.
     

Physical Fitness:

  1. A career in the Merchant Navy requires physical and mental robustness.
